Hosting a website on Amazon S3

This is not a story… More like Manual of some sort. Additionally it serve as a portfolio of who I intend to become, and showcasing what I have been taught by the awesome AWS re/Start Techops — A great thank you to Janet Chesang, A true teacher! and the entire chrome channel.

So what’s Amazon S3 ?

Amazon S3, which stands for Simple Storage Service, is an object storage service that provides scalable, secure, and high-performance data storage. You can store and retrieve any amount of data from anywhere, at any time. Objects, which are files along with their optional metadata, are stored in containers called Buckets. To host a static website on S3, you first create a bucket. Begin by signing up for an Amazon S3 free tier account and then navigate to the Amazon Management Console to get started.

Under the search bar, type “S3” and click on it. Then, click “Create Bucket.” Remember, a bucket is a container that holds objects (files), and that’s what we’ll be creating now. On the “Create Bucket” page, you’ll see several sections, but we’ll focus on three:
